June 2008

• June 29, 2008 11:30am. Lightning messed up a small portion of the equipment at Benner Hill, requiring a restart of that gear at about 1:30pm. Lightning also struck near the Knox County Courthouse and knocked out power there most of the afternoon. After power was restored, service was back to normal from that location.
• June 27, 2008 10:30am There was a brief problem with a access point at our Benner Hill location that caused outages to some users who point to that location. It also caused problems for a repeater located in Owls Head. This problem was quickly located and corrected.
• June 25, 2008 7:00pm There was a brief problem with the link going to Monhegan, this was quickly located and corrected. Monhegan users may have been having problems with internet speeds as well as Digital Phone during this time.
• June 24, 2008 10:00am A new problem has come up with the gear installed yesterday at Wayfarer in Camden. We are sending someone over to fix it.
• June 23, 2008 A new Midcoast.com Spot as been launched in Camden. This will cover most of the harbor areas. New Spots will be coming soon to downtown Camden!
• June 23, 2008 11am. There will be some work taking place at the Wayfarer Marine location in Camden. We will be relocating the equipment to a higher location to help increase our coverage in that area. There could be several brief outages this morning but all should be normal again in early afternoon.
• June 16, 200811:30am. The Oak Hill wireless repeater on North Haven has stopped working. We have dispatched someone to work on it. Update: The problem has been fixed.
• June 16, 2008 7:30am. A new backhaul link between Westport and Benner Hill has been activated and repairs have been finished on the old backhaul. This new backhaul provides much more speed between Westport and Rockland.
• June 15, 2008 A power problem damaged a power supply this evening at Benner Hill, causing an outage for Westport linked customers.
• June 14, 2008 Squirrel Island customers began to have a performance problem. This was related to the Westport upgrade and has been fixed as of Monday morning.
• June 9, 2008 9:00am. The wireless repeater at the Knox County airport had a temporary problem for a while this morning and is working fine now.
• June 2, 2008 The Ash Point wireless repeater in Owls Head is out of service due to lightning problems. Update: The problem has been located and was unrelated to lighting. We hope to have this corrected early Tuesday. Update: June 3rd. The problem has been corrected.
• June 2, 2008 4:00am The link bewtween North Haven and Isleboro North location has gone down. We have narrowed the problem down and will correct that issue as soon as possible Monday, early morning. This affects people that access the internet via; Islesboro Salt Shed, Northport Bluff, Perry's Nut House & The Green Store. Update: 1:00pm. This link has not only been fixed, but upgraded.
• June 2, 2008 9:00am. Some people had been having trouble with the 785-6622 dialup number. This has been fixed now.
