News & Notices
March 2001
- March 30, 2001 5:30-5:45pm. The 5939397 and one of the 236 and
one of the 832 and 338 numbers had been slow this afternoon. This was
traced to some faulty equipment in Rockland at our office and that has
been replaced. (We replaced 2 items at the same time, so we don't yet
know which was the culprit).
- March 28, 2001 6:00pm. C&W, an important
"upstream" connection to the internet had some trouble switching
over our internet traffic from the old T1 to the new dual T1. This caused
many people not to be able to get places starting at this time. C&W
has been notified and is fixing things. 7:20 pm C&W has fixed
this and we are on the new dual-T1 system now.
- March 21, 2001 3:00pm. 563-6622 in Damariscotta has 24 more
lines on it now. This along with 563-8999 means 48 new V90 lines in
damariscotta in the past 2 months.
- March 14, 2001 10:05am. zoombrew3.midcast.com, our main router,
had 2 new T1s activated on it today. BGP was also activated. These changes
are designed to increase performance and improve reliability. It will take
a few days before we see much benefit as more work has to be done, but it
won't interupt anything while we work on it.
- March 8, 2001 12:15am. zoombrew3.midcoast.com will be shutdown
for an upgrade. This will take about 5-10 minutes and will affect most
activities during this time. This upgrade is in preparation for more
bandwidth in the near future.
- March 6, 2001 3:00pm. Due to bad weather and school being out,
many more people than normal are home surfing the internet. This is caused
ocassionaly busies today and is not normal.
- March 3, 2001 10:00am. Some of the people who use the Ragged
Mountain omni for wireless had trouble this morning starting at 2am.
Restarting equipment on the mountain has fixed things.
