Current Notices
- September 26, 2002 8:00pm. 15006997201 and 15006997200 have
rung busy for a while this evening. We have sufficient equipment that this
should not be happening. We have notified Verizon of the problem and they
are investigating. Update 10:30am Sept 27 - Verizon has been
working on this this morning and will be watching for problems this
evening.
- September 24, 2002 10:00am. Adelphia began blocking mail from
midcoast.com Thursday without letting us know. They claim to only block
email when they receive a mailbomb from a site. We are not aware of any
such activity originating from midcoast.com and told them so. Adelphia is
removing the block this morning. Adelphia says they may block again if
they receive a mailbomb. (A mailbomb in email is when a very large amount
of mail is sent continously in an attempt to fill up email boxes).
- September 23, 2002 4:40pm. Some customers reported busy signals
on 1-500-699-7200 today. 1-500-699-7201 is fine and has plenty of ready
modems. The 7200 number received 24 more modems today, and is expected to
receive 96 additional modems this week.
- September 23, 2002 We have received several messages indicating
that Adelphia is blocking email from midcoast.com. We have not determined
why they are doing this and hope to receive an answer from them. We don't
know of anyone else who is blocking email from midcoast.com.
- September 20, 2002 11:00am - The proxy server
quiver.midcoast.com was moved to the data center this morning and was not
working properly. This was fixed by 2:00pm.
- September 6, 2002 4:00pm - 589-3380 in Liberty is having
trouble. People should use the 589-3003 or 1-500-699-7201 or
1-500-699-7200 until it is fixed. We will be making the repair on Monday
to 589-3380.
